My Letters To The Little One

…love letters from the Mommy

Hi 14 week old Baby! 🙂 Here’s what you probably look by now.

14 weeks! 🙂

And… I got so excited when I read this about how you are now. Information courtesy of
This week’s big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he’ll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you’re having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby’s stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body’s growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that’s in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He’s starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby’s liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it’s doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can’t feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist’s hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Don’t worry Baby, soon enough we will go to the doctor to get all the health care we need. We love you sooooo much! 🙂

hi sis! it’s been a while since i’ve been to your blog. how are you and the baby holding up? i dunno but somehow i smile while reading your posts because i’ve been in your situation too (when my parents still didn’t know i was pregnant).lol, that was 3 years ago! i guess i see my younger self in you. anyway, it’s nice to know you’re doing just fine. and if i may, i suggest that you go to an OB na so you can get vitamins. folic acid is essential for the first few months of pregnancy. 🙂

Hi Sis! 🙂 I really really feel relieved and encouraged whenever someone tells me that they have been in the same situation like mine, so it kinda gives me hope that I will not get assassinated right after I tell them the NEWS. 😀 Haha! Thank you very much for commenting and saying nice things. Hehehe. 😀 Yeah, I guess I better go to the doctor soon, I just have to bribe my mom with an oven first, so she’ll probably go soft on me when I tell her. 🙂 Thank you so much for the concern! 🙂
