My Letters To The Little One

…love letters from the Mommy

Hi Lucas! ♥ Mommy and Daddy will be married in a few weeks! 🙂 Both of us are so excited, and we hope you are too!

See, Mommy and Daddy have been engaged since January 2010, and we have been going to different wedding fairs and food tastings ever since. We also contacted several wedding suppliers already! 🙂 We also had a very feasible wedding plan and timetable — all we needed was the money. 😀 Daddy and I planned on saving up for the next two to three years, but seven and a half months ago, you were given to us by God. 🙂 As much as we wanted to go through our dream wedding, we put our plans on hold, as we wanted to make sure you would have everything you want and need. Besides, Mommy and Daddy don’t mind having a civil wedding first. 🙂 It’s actually kind of exciting that I’ll be sharing Daddy’s surname sooner than expected. We can always get married again soon — and the beauty of it is, you’ll be with us as our ring bearer! 🙂

We do hope, when the right time comes, Mommy and Daddy will get to hire the following suppliers (our dream team since January 2010).

Okay… Mommy posted this in our blog, so she can remember all these details, and for you to know how Mommy and Daddy love each other verrrry verrry much that they have extensively planned all of this! 🙂 One thing that saddens me though, is the fact that you don’t have any wedding videos of Mom and Dad to watch when you turn one or two, because we’ll prolly have this wedding when you turn three or five. Granted though, that you don’t have your baby brother or sister by that time! 😀

P.S. > You know Lucas, Mommy will be extremely pissed if somebody copies her whole wedding plan. Pregnant or not, hormones or no hormones, I will be super duper mad at that person, cause I didn’t post this just for anyone to copy most of our plans. 😀

And you know how Mommy gets mad right? 🙂

We love you Lucas! 🙂 We’re so happy you’ll be with us at our wedding! 🙂

P.P.S > Please give Mommy’s tummy some space for eating after the wedding, cause we’re planning to eat in a restaurant that offers great buffet — so don’t make Mommy have a heartburn attack or anything! 😛

Hi Lucas! 🙂 *sigh* Mommy’s still quite busy, but not because of work — because of too much thinking.

See, Mommy and Daddy have been talking about our future arrangements, once you say hello to the world. Both of us are quite uneasy about the fact that we are supposed to hire a nanny to watch over you while Daddy and Mommy are at work. I mean like, I don’t want any random stranger (no matter how trustworthy that person is) to take care of my little boy. I want to watch over you, take care of you and never miss anything you do —- but I still need to work too. *sigh*

Mommy’s looking for homebased online jobs during her break hours, so we can make a compromise regarding our situation.

~Imagine Mommy working, with you on my lap? Probably breastfeeding?? :P~

But even if the offers are quite tempting, I still feel bad about it because… okay Little One, this is our little secret, okay? Mommy’s boss had a secret talk with Mommy two weeks ago, and he mentioned that he will be promoting me to Head Teacher once I come back from my maternity leave (approximately April 2012). Mommy’s been waiting for this kind of promotion for a long time, since her supposedly first promotion from her first company backfired this year, as I resigned two weeks before the person I was supposed to replace did (our videophone coach). I feel like if I don’t accept the promotion, I will feel like a real failure — I have worked in the education industry for almost three years (two years with Koreans) and I haven’t gotten anywhere.

Baby, I’m sorry. Mommy’s not blaming you for this, you totally don’t have to feel bad for yourself. I guess I’m just adjusting to the fact that once you have a baby, your career and social life will be placed on hold indefinitely. I mean, I don’t really mind my social life much — as long as I have Facebook and my phone’s loaded with credits, that’s okay. What I’m totally worrying about is my career growth. Mommy wants to get a really good position, so she can get good pay and buy all the things that you want and need (well, not really — you’re not going to be terribly spoiled, young man) — and I can’t do that with a meager salary. But if I do continue working 9 hours a day in the office, I’ll be filled with guilt for leaving you behind with some stranger who might do something really terrible. Or you know, someone who’ll ruin the bottle sterilizer for not following instructions. 😀 I’m really touchy about the sterilizer thingy.

Daddy’s salary is quite okay actually, but we both think it’s just enough for our growing needs. I don’t know, maybe Mommy’s just not used to the fact that she’ll be asking money for frivolous things for me and you — like our excessive trips to the mall. 😀

*sigh* But don’t worry Lucas, Mommy and Daddy will manage just fine, whatever happens. God will always guide us through our decisions, as long as we seek Him first. That’s why we always have our nightly prayers with Daddy.

Sorry Baby, Mommy just needs someone to talk to. Sorry if Mommy is stressing you out with these kinds of things, and I’m also apologizing if Mommy hasn’t completely adjusted to all these things. All we want is the best for you. ♥

Is Mommy too vain? 😦 I’m really sorry if you think I am. 😦

We love you Anak! ♥

♥,

Mommy and Daddy

Hi Leetol One.. Or should I say… LEETOL BOY!!! 😀 We found out last Saturday, at a nearby clinic. Daddy and I went at around 10:15 AM, and we were third in line. The lady before us took so long, that I got to the ultrasound room at around 11:05 AM. The sonographer made me feel comfortable as she glided the transducer with lots of cold gel on my tummy. She was very nice and chatty. 🙂 When she asked me if I wanted to know your gender, I said yes right away. 🙂 Then she showed me your jingly jangly organ — and she said you were a boy. I was so happy I let out a shriek! 😀 Mommy was trying to hold back her tears, as she did not want to look so emotional in front of a complete stranger, but I was very very happy to know your gender, regardless if you are a boy or girl. The joy of knowing reminded us of the fact that I wasn’t just pregnant person, but I am carrying another person inside of me. A little boy is inside of me. 😀

Daddy cannot wait to see you, but he was also quite worried that he’d be late for work. Good thing he was able to wait for a few more minutes — he knocked at the room, to tell me he had to go, which was also the exact time the sonographer found out what your gender was. Daddy stayed for a few minutes too, as the sonographer showed him your different body parts — your heart, spine, belly, legs, arms, liver and of course, your penis. 😀 He also saw you deliver your very strong kicks. Your Daddy went straight home to take a bath and get some of his things, as he only had a few minutes to go. His face said it all, according to Grandma, as he walked inside the house, straight to the kitchen. 😀 Her exact words were “Yung ngiti nya, lagpas tenga” (His big grin went past his ears)

I got home a few minutes later, and Grandma gave me a hug. 🙂 Everyone’s so happy for you Leetol Boy. 🙂 Your Daddy was so happy on his way to work, he could not stop grinning even in public. He also forgot some things too. 😀 I, on the other hand, cannot stop talking about the details of the ultrasound. Grandma and I watched Cars 2 on DVD, as I wanted everything to be as boyish as possible. Mommy got the results late that afternoon, and I showed it to Grandma as soon as I got home. Here are your pictures, Anak. (Sorry for the low quality, I just took them using the webcam… Don’t worry Leetol Boy, Mommy and Daddy will buy a new digicam within the month, so we can take more pictures of you!)

Those are pictures of your abdomen and your head. 🙂

I think this is your belly… or whole body. I’m not really sure. 😀

Now, these are pictures of your head and legs. 🙂

Sorry Baby, the first picture got ruined, I think I spilled something

on it. Anyway, these show your face, your penis and testicles. 😀

The ultrasound report. 🙂 According to the U/S, you are 23 weeks

and 3 days old last Saturday. But according to Mommy’s LMP, you were

24 weeks and 5 days old. 🙂

On to other news, Mommy also bought your bottles already! 🙂 Too bad I couldn’t take photos of them, as I already left them at home. Mommy bought 4 9oz. wide necks bottles (it’s sort of a buy 3, take 1 promo) and 1 5oz. wide neck bottle, all from Tommee Tippee.  The 90z. bottles were priced at P1,499.oo ($34.97) and the 5oz. bottle at P449.75 ($10.49), so all in all we spent P1,948.75 ($45.46). Not bad, right? We will get more bottles soon, the ones that come with your sterilizer. 🙂

And to the most important news of all —- Great Grandma and Grand Aunt Mia knows about you. 🙂 They’re not mad — well, maybe they were initially, I’m not really sure, but what’s important is now they’re not. They are also wishing the best for us. 🙂 Leetol Boy, it is such a relief that they already know. Mommy and Daddy have been extremely worried for the past few weeks, and Mommy’s finding it very hard to hide a 6-month-old belly in front of the neighbors. Mommy can still hide it, but not too well. What Mommy finds disturbing though, is the fact that a lot of men still stare at her. Daddy says it’s because I’m a sexy pregnant lady. LOL. Your Daddy’s very much a bolero — and I like it. 😀 😀 😀 Did you know that a month ago, one random normal-looking, mid-20’s dude asked for your Mommy’s number while crossing the street?! I looked visibly pregnant that time!! Your Daddy was quite convinced that you might be a girl — because of that idiot notion that when a pregnant woman glows, she’s carrying a girl. AND YOU HAPPEN TO BE A BOY. 🙂 A very, very handsome boy. 🙂

What I’m a little worried about is your Great Grandpa, because we couldn’t call him last weekend, because of the bad weather. Once he gets to know about it, Mommy and Daddy will feel very much relieved, and we can proceed with our wedding planning. Daddy and Mommy will prolly go to our prospective venue this weekend, so please pray very hard that we still have some slots open, okay? 🙂

Daddy’s doing fine at work, by the way. He finds it not so tiring, compared to his last office job, which made him work 12 hours a day. Let’s pray your Daddy does well in his job, so he’ll get promoted in a short time’s notice. 🙂

Also, last night, Mommy suffered a real bad heartburn attack. I was on the verge of crying because of so much pain. 😦 I felt like someone sucker punched me real bad, and the pain ascended to the chest area. Daddy, Mommy and Grandma prayed really hard that the pain would pass, and it did, thank God. Dr. Tumbokon said that my esophageal sphincter was prolly relaxed because of pregnancy, so she advised me not to eat too much (bummer) and to avoid spicy and fatty foods. She also asked me to take an antacid, and if things are still bad, I should go to the clinic today. So far, Mommy’s pretty much okay, after one bout of bowel movement and a slew of number 3, vomiting. 😦 One antacid, glass of cold milk and some Efficacent Oil later did the trick.

*sigh* Leetol Boy, you have made us giddy happy this weekend. We love you very very much. 🙂 🙂 Mommy and Daddy have decided on a name a few months ago, and now that we know you are a boy, we are going to call you by your name, LUCAS RAM. And no, we did not name you after Sen. Bong Revilla’s slain half-brother Ram Revilla, who died weeks ago. We named you after Luke, the physician and historian who wrote the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts. Also, from George Lucas, who made Mommy’s all-time favorite movie saga, Star Wars. 🙂 Your name Ram is from your Daddy’s name, Amram. 🙂 Over my ____ body will I name you Junior — cause if I did, years from now, your playmates might laugh at your name cause it sounds so old-fashioned — and besides, there are too many boys with Juniors appended to their name — Daddy’s youngest brother, Tito Jun and Mommy’s half brother, Tito Jun-jun included.

LUCAS —-

~~~~~Luke, in Greek λύκος (lukos) means “wolf“, or from the Greek word λευκός (leukos) (<PIE *leuk- “brightness”) means “bright”. (From Wikipedia)
~~~~~Bringer of light, morning.(From biblical-baby-names.com)

RAM —-

~~~~~The Biblical baby name Ram is Hebrew in origin and it’s meaning is exalted. (From biblical-baby-names.com)
~~~~~ Ram means “high, exalted” or “mighty.” (from judaism.about.com)

P.S. —> You are a sly Leetol boy, Lucas. 😀 You keep on giving swift kicks when Mommy’s teaching her students, so I suddenly put my hands on my belly out of surprise! Also, you gave the sonographer a hard time taking pictures of your penis, as you kept opening and closing your legs! 😛 The sonographer said you kept on moving — A LOT! 😀 Hahahaha! 😀 Mommy’s not mad though, I’m actually very happy that you are very much healthy inside my tummy. WE LOVE YOU AND WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU! 🙂 🙂 🙂

P.P.S. —> Some of your ninangs already know your gender, including your ninangs here in the office. They are very excited about you, Leetol Lucas. 🙂

Hi Leetol One! 🙂 We had a great last weekend with Daddy, no? Last Saturday morning, Daddy helped me with the laundry (as usual), then we went to the clinic for one of our monthly check-ups with Dr. Tumbokon. She told me to continue our vitamins and our milk intake, then she used the Doppler to check on your heart rate (which was pretty fast :D). She also measured the fundic height, which kind of helps her to know if you’re growing nicely in my belly. According to her, Mommy will be getting Tetanus vaccines starting next month, and I bet that’s going to be really painful (I should know, I have been giving those to pregnant mommies when I was still a student nurse), so just bear with Mommy on this one, mmkay? It’ll be for our own good, I promise. 😀 There was one thing that made me quite sad though, as Dr. Tumbokon told us that our next ultrasound schedule will be on January 2012 (our “scheduled” 3d – 4d session), so we could be entirely sure about your gender, and save money at the same time. *Sigh* Daddy and I have been planning to buy your clothes on December, as we were sure that we would know your gender by that time. Oh well.

Well, after the check-up, Daddy and I decided to go to SM Megamall (our regular haunt) to check on appliances and baby stuff. We also had to resolve the BIG BOTTLE DILEMMA once and for all. 😀 We had to walk and eat a lot during those hours, but Daddy and I had a great time, as I’m sure you have heard. 🙂 Daddy and I ate at Karate Kid first, cause he wanted to try something relatively affordable and tasty at the same time. Here are our pictures! 🙂

Daddy and Mommy on a date! ♥ Mommy's gained weight na, somehow... 🙂

And, being a couple with huge appetites, we love restos that offer rice-all-you-can. 🙂

Daddy's Chicken Terriyaki --- He got 4 rice refills for this, but barely touched his bottomless Kido Punch Tea

Daddy likes chicken and fish a lot (you’ll have to remember that) while Mommy loves beef and pork better. 🙂 But both of us can’t say no to lamb! 🙂

Mommy's Beef Terriyaki ---> I got a single refill with the rice, as this meal already has lotsa rice na, but I had two or three refills with the Punch Tea. 🙂

And of course, the obligatory chow-time faces

Daddy! ♥

Mommy looks like she gained weight already

Mommy with chubby cheeks! :p

After being filled to our hearts’ content…

Daddy na daddy na! ♥

Do I look like a Mommy na?

After eating, we went straight to the SM Department Store to check on what we need and can afford to buy. Daddy and I have settled the debate, and we have decided on buying Tommee Tippee bottles and sterilizer. Daddy’s still not keen on getting a breast pump, but we’ll try to talk about it next time.  We also checked out different baby bags and toiletries.

Then we went down to the Ground Floor part,  to check on things we need for our future house. Daddy and I had fun checking out different appliances and furniture, while acting like we’re these totally mature young couple at the same time. 😀 We finished looking around prolly at 8:30 that evening, but Daddy wanted to walk and look around some more with a Large McDo fries at hand, so we had a short trip to McDo for fries and sundae cone, before going to Toy Kingdom (cause your Daddy is still a little boy at heart). Here are some of his antics at the entrance of the toy store.

Daddy offering French Fries to Darth Vader

……………

"We can resolve this. Through fries."

……………………………..

Eeeeew Dad... Why are you touching The Hulk's butt? 😛

……………………………

Daddy's biceps or The Hulk's biceps?

After sensing that the guards have been eyeing us for the last few minutes, Daddy and I decided to leave Toy Kingdom and go home. Mommy’s ankles have been pretty tired at this point. 😦 We had a bit of a hard time trying to get on the MRT at 9:30 in the evening, but we were able to squeeze ourselves inside after a few trains have passed.

Daddy stayed with us Saturday night. He talked to you about different things, and he was hoping he’ll get to feel you moving and kicking. He got his wish at around 12 midnight, right after him saying that he loves you very much. Every time Daddy ended his sentence, you gave Daddy a swift, gentle kick in the cheek. 🙂 Daddy’s smile was up to his ears that time, then he jokingly scolded you that you kept kicking his cheek, and I joke you not, you stopped kicking! 😛 You made your Daddy sleep with a huge smile on his face. 🙂

Here’s how Mommy’s belly looks now at 23 weeks:

You in my belly at 23 weeks! 🙂 Mommy totally forgot about her other picture facing backwards... Daddy took it to totally prove to me that I don't look pregnant pag nakatalikod! 😛

The next day, we went to church with Daddy and Ninang Mimi. Grandma always goes to church very early, so we met her there. After church, we went home to eat lunch and have our afternoon siesta. Daddy forced us to fold clothes in the late afternoon though. 😛

Hhhhmmmm… I guess that’s it for now. Daddy will be quite busy again this week, as he did not like the terms set by his supposedly future employer, so he’s out looking for another prospective job. Pray for your Daddy ah? 😀

We love you Leetol One! 🙂 Happy 23 weeks! 🙂

P.S. As Mommy is typing this, you have been giving me strong consecutive kicks. 😀

Hi Leetol One! 🙂 Mommy’s a little bored right now, since her next class is still at 6:40 PM (it’s 3:35 PM as we speak). So to pass the time, Mommy keeps on looking for baby-related stuff on the internet while having strawberry yogurt. You have been clamoring for strawberries for days now, and this is the next best thing to strawberries here in Ortigas, cause I don’t have time to buy real strawberries now. 😀

Anyhoo, back to baby-related stuff. See, Daddy and I have been having this dilemma for months now — we don’t know what kind of baby bottles to buy for you. I mean, we know how many 4-5 oz. and 8-9 oz. bottles we need, it’s  just that we are clueless when it comes to brands. My mommy cyberfriends have been telling me different things, and Daddy doesn’t really like to “wing it” when it comes to buying bottles, cause we have to admit, bottles are expensive. We also want the sterilizer and the breast pump to match for the sake of convenience.

If you could talk now, maybe you could tell us what you like. 😀 For the sake of posterity and Mommy’s arte, I’ll post some pictures of the bottles, sterilizers and manual breast pumps that Daddy and Mommy are eyeing.

Mommy and Daddy thinks: Avent must be really good, as most moms nowadays recommend it to us. However, it can get a little too pricey, and we still have other things of yours to buy. But if it’s like super heavy-duty and will last until you’re two or three years old, well I guess we won’t be minding the price. But we still need some convincing on this one.

~~Pigeon~~

Mommy and Daddy thinks: Pigeon is also one of the best known brands around, and it’s within our budget. The Pigeon Philippines showroom is also quite near our place in Cubao, so we could probably get some discount there. Moms from cyberspace have been raving about this brand too. However, we also need some convincing on this one as well, as we are pretty much clueless when it comes to baby bottle brands and their durability. 😀

~~Tommee Tippee~~

Mommy and Daddy thinks: We don’t really know much about Tommee Tippee, because we only know a handful of moms who use this brand. Mommy and Daddy usually just pass by their display at the SM Megamall Department Store and did not bother looking too much, ’cause it gave us an impression that their products are expensive. But when I looked at reviews from the Smart Parenting’s Parent Chat, some moms were raving about it, and according to them, it is also not too pricey. I’m also quite sold on their Closer to Nature feeding range — most of the reviews say that the teats are so soft, plus the babies don’t get nipple confusion because of their close resemblance to an actual breast. But like the previous two brands, we  also need some convincing on this one, as we have no idea about prices and the quality.

Hmmm… So what do you think Leetol One? Think you can help Mommy and Daddy in choosing? We already asked your Grandma about it, and she says she used Canon and Gerber bottles on me when I was young. I haven’t seen any Canon bottles lately, and most Gerber bottles I know are bought online. We haven’t asked your Lola Mareth on this one yet, as she is also busy sewing Mommy’s wedding dress. 😀 Let’s also see what other mommies can tell us. 🙂

We love you Leetol One! 🙂

P.S.I know you feel quite full right now, as we ate ginisang sayote and rice for early lunch; Bakersfresh butter croissant, cinnamon twist and garlic bread for mid lunch; and Jollibee Grilled Pork Tenders and Homi Instant Noodles for late lunch. Plus I’m about to finish our yogurt right now, and proceed next to the fudge brownie we have here. 🙂

P.P.S. Always pray for your Daddy, he’s got a very busy week coming. He’s taking the exam on Sunday, and a final job interview on Tuesday. 🙂 Be proud and cheer for him, as he is always doing his very best to take care of us and our future, okay? We love you too Daddy (we know you’re reading this too!)

Hi Leetol One! 🙂 You have been veeerrrry malikot lately ah… 😀 You always like to move when Mommy’s at work or when Mommy’s about to sleep. Daddy thinks that you prefer a noisy environment than a quiet one. 😀

And speaking of your very magaling na Daddy, he forgot to get the camera from Tito Yeye, so he could forward your ultrasound photos. >:/ So, as of now, Mommy can’t upload it just yet. 😦 *sigh* We can’t wait to get another one, as we can see that you are getting bigger (basing from Mommy’s tummy size) by the week. We do pray, hope and wish that you will not cross your legs this time, so the sonographer can tell us what your gender is. 😀

Anyhoo, early yesterday, Daddy and I applied for a marriage license in Quezon City Hall. We arrived there at around 9 AM, then proceeded quickly to the Civil Registry Office. The staff behind Counter 11 said that we had all the documents ready, it’s just that we did not have any extra copies, so we had to photocopy the rest of them. We also had to let a lawyer notarize these documents.

For the sake that you might get married in QC one day, or our readers need some help, here are the requirements we needed to have so we could apply for a marriage license in Quezon City:

1.) Certified True copy of Birth Certificate or Baptismal Certificate (don’t worry, they will give it back to you afterwards) of both applicants

2.) Community Residence Certificate / Cedula of both applicants

3.) Photo ID of both applicants

4.) Marriage License Application Form (downloadable from the Quezon City website) — print at least 3 copies of this document

5.) Parents’ Advice Form — Mommy and Daddy are both 24 years old (we were actually born only 22 days apart), so we needed two copies each for your grandmas and grandpa to sign.

Thankfully, they did not ask for our CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage), cause we were not able to get one, cause we did not have enough time. After that, we had to pay some fees (around 250 pesos all in all, I think) in the Treasurer’s Office, then went to different buildings for our Family Planning Seminar and Marriage Counseling Seminar schedules next week.

When we get our certificates for those seminars, we could claim our license on Friday, October 21, 2011, and we could get married anytime during the next four months. 😀 Yaaaaaaaay! 😀 We will be sharing Daddy’s surname soon! 🙂 Daddy and I are both excited, but I’m also a little scared at the moment. I told you last time that I’m not really used to being away from your Grandma for a long time, sooooo that makes me very sad and nervous, cause I don’t know what I will do without her. I told Grandma about this, and she just laughed it off at first 😡 She thinks I’m like this because I’m pregnant and all, but she assured me in the end that she will always be there when we need her. That’s a really comforting thought right now, as Mommy’s back is aching, her boobs are starting to hurt and swell plus her stomach is acting up like mad from too much eating. 😦 Doesn’t really do much difference to me, as you are the one gaining all the weight, and Mommy still has not gained much weight. 😛

We love you soooo much Leetol One! 😀

Hi Leetol One! 🙂 Sorry, I should have posted your ultrasound pictures, but the camera’s still with Tito Amiel. It’s a long story, but don’t worry… we’ll post it soon enough. Anyhoo, Mommy’s munching on striped chocolate chip cookies as we speak, cause you seem to be looking for more chocolate lately. Haha. 🙂

C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me! 🙂

Daddy was not able to visit during the weekend because he had to tend to some things first, but he’ll make it up to us next week — he made sure of that! We have also been sooooo busy doing paperwork so Mommy and Daddy can get married and stay all together in one house. Doesn’t that sound fun? 🙂 I feel quite excited yet sad at the same time, cause I don’t want to leave your Grandma and Aunt Mimi.. 😦 I’m not used to being away from them for so long. 😦 I do hope they visit us often, and we still get to talk a lot through the phone. Like everyday.

And speaking of houses, Daddy said he knows of one house that’s really near Mommy’s office, near our current house and Grandma’s future house. 🙂 We will check it out soon so we can see if we can move there or not.

Sorry for the vandals, Wikipedia! @_@

Yesterday, Grandma and I went to Greenhills, so we could buy flat sandals and long leggings. Mommy can’t really fit into her jeans anymore, as I’m now a size 34 (from a size 26). Your Grandma was the best, she got into super haggling mode and used the “my daughter’s pregnant” angle, so we got some discounts! 😛 She said some people were looking at me, cause they really can’t decide if I’m pregnant or if I just have beer belly. 😛 Hahaha! 😀 We also saw this verrrrry beautiful baby bag worth 2000 pesos (around $45), with a free small bag and changing pad.

*sigh*

Mommy’s going to buy those bags soon!! I’m so excited!! 🙂 But I still can’t decide on what brand of bottles to buy for you, cause I’m relying on word of mouth from the SmartParenting Forums and a lot of them have been rooting for different brands as well. Of course, we want nothing but the best for you Leetol One, so Mommy’s taking her sweet time to choose. 🙂

As for Daddy, he did well during his exam and interview a week ago, but we still have to wait until he undergoes the final interview on October 18. Oh, and he still has to take the Civil Service Exam on the 16th, so Daddy’s pretty busy — but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time for us. He always asks me to put the cellphone on my tummy so you could hear his voice. 😀 Daddy’s very sweet, no? Always cheer for Daddy, okay? 🙂

About Mommy and Daddy’s wedding, we will file the necessary papers next week, so we could attend the required seminars by the local city hall and get the license. Our preferred wedding venue is sooooo kick butt, everyone attending will be talking about it for weeks! 😀 But let’s pray that all of these things work for the better, okay? 🙂 We’ll tell you more about it when we have finalized the reservations.. 🙂

And yeah, you’re 20 weeks now, according to Mommy’s LMP (Daddy and I decided to follow that — so no one gets confused!) Here’s what you look like by now:

at 20 weeks! 🙂

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He’s also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby’s legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the “crown to rump” measurement. After 20 weeks, he’s measured from head to toe.)

He’s swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He’s also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you’ll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

You’re getting quite big na, and I’m really thankful that both of us are gaining weight now. We will also start our calcium supplement tomorrow, soooo I do hope we won’t experience any creepy side effects like when we started having ferrous sulfate. :/

Anyhoo, Leetol One… everyone’s very excited for you! 🙂 You are one of the main reasons why Mommy and Daddy wake up cheerfully every morning, and sleep with a smile at night. We love you so much!! 🙂
