My Letters To The Little One

…love letters from the Mommy

Hi Little One! 🙂 Merry Christmas and Happy 32 Weeks! 🙂 I am so sorry Mommy wasn’t able to post these past few days, especially with the Christmas parties / dinners and last minute shopping to do.

Here are Daddy’s and Mommy’s Christmas party solo pictures from their respective Christmas parties.

Daddy at the DGPI Masquerade Christmas Party in One Corporate Center Ortigas, December 16, 2011

Mommy in GiggleBee English's Christmas Dinner in --- well, the office at Tycoon Building0 Ortigas, December 22, 2011

We spent both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home with your Daddy, Nonna, Ap Mimi and Great Grandpa. 🙂 Even though there were some hitches, we were able to celebrate the holidays in the happiest way possible! 🙂 Everyone got their gifts — and you got the most number of gifts! 😛 Hahaha! 🙂 Oh, here are our Christmas pictures. 🙂

Veggie salad for Noche Buena --- cause Mommy and Little One have to eat very healthy foods! 🙂

Salad with Italian dressing (YUM!) and barbeque from our uncles and aunts --- we ate most of them before we took the picture! 😛

Pork roasting in Nonna's oven 🙂

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree! 🙂

We didn't bother to put all the gifts in the Christmas Tree --- Mommy got too lazy to wrap your gifts, because you had a LOT of gifts! 🙂

🙂 Don't worry Little Boy, we'll have our very own Christmas Tree next year. 🙂

Christmas glow 🙂

Candy cane! 🙂

Daddy and Mommy basking in the glow of Christmas! 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤

Nonna’s gift for you — cause she knows you’ll be going different places someday! 🙂

Nonna and Ap Mimi's gifts 🙂

Daddy and Mommy's gifts for you! 🙂

I know that looks a lot, but Daddy and I think you still need more more more! 🙂

Dad and Mom with your gifts! 🙂

*Sigh* Baby, we’ve come a long way… A lot of things have changed. But all these changes are for the better, I assure you. 🙂 Oh, prolly except the whole weight gain thingy. Mommy’s going to lose all those extra weight after you come out, I promise! 😛 Hahaha! 🙂 I have been posting some of the changes you have been going through for the past few months — so now it’s my turn to post the changes that I have been going through.

Pre-pregnancy: 120 lbs.

At 32 weeks: 138 lbs. That’s prolly because you’re a heavy little boy. 😛

Pre-pregnancy: 5’4 1/2

At 32 weeks: Still 5’4 1/2. Hahaha. Pregnancy didn’t make Mommy tall, unfortunately. 😛

~~Waist Line~~

Pre-pregnancy: 26-27 in.

At 32 weeks: 38.5 in. Eeeeeep! You certainly made yourself quite comfy there Little Boy. 😉

~~VS (Vital Signs? Vital Statistics? Hahaha!)~~

Pre-pregnancy:  Vital signs (temperature, pulse, BP and respiratory rate) are within low normal range. 🙂 Vital statistics is around 36C-27-34.

At 32 weeks: Vital signs are within normal range. 🙂 Vital statistics however, now that’s a different story! 36D-38.5″-36 — in other words, Mommy looks like a total balloon right now. 😦

~~Other Changes~~

Pre-pregnancy: Acne-prone, dull skin! 😦 Hair’s too frizzy. 😦 But no linea nigra… Hahaha! 🙂

At 32 weeks: Glowing, dewy, zero-acne skin! 🙂 Hair’s quite cooperative! 🙂 No pedal edema —- yaaaay! 🙂 So far, no stretchmarks in the tummy too. And melasma are in places that are hidden away from the public eye. 😀 Linea nigra’s there, but that’s okay, cause that’s going away a few weeks after you come out. 😉

Even though Mommy’s world was turned upside down with all the physical, emotional, mental and financial changes — all these things are worth going through, because we love you SOOOOOOO much Little One. 🙂

See you in a couple of weeks time! 🙂 We’ll be having our 3D / 4D ultrasound soon, and we’ll probably buy your toiletries this weekend! 🙂 Love you Baby! 🙂 ♥

Mommy's turning into a huge, shapeless balloon! 😛

Hi Little One! 🙂 Happy 31 weeks! 🙂

How your baby’s growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He’s probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby’s kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Today’s Christmas week, and we’re very excited for you! 🙂 You already have a lot of gifts! 😀

We’ll post more soon! 🙂

Mommy and Daddy

Hi Lucas! 🙂 Sorry, Mommy’s been extremely busy — a lot of kids have been enrolling lately, because it’s almost the start of winter holidays in Korea. I barely have time to be active in Smart Parenting and GirlTalk. 😦 But of course, your Mom is a certified multi-tasker, so she still tries to go through her favorite blogs while having her classes — very bad, no? 😀

I’m supposed to write my bucket list for days now Baby, but I keep forgetting. Probably has something to do with pregnancy amnesia or something like that. Maybe Mommy will do that next week, cause next Saturday’s Christmas Eve, and I think that befits the occasion. For now though, Mommy got this year ender meme from a blog that I have recently discovered, Sandier Pastures.

I found her blog pretty interesting, as she’s also a mom blogger — but mostly she writes about her experiences about living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Her witty yet entertaining way of writing got me hooked last night — I think I backread entries until year 2008. I got distracted a lot during class — Mom kept mentioning sand and camels to her students! Eeeep! 😀

Anyhoo, here’s the meme:

1.) What did you do in 2011 that you hadn’t done before?

~ Mommy got pregnant? Hahaha! 🙂 I also officially resigned from a company for the first time — cause before, Mom usually makes it like a banana and split from her former companies. 😀

2.) Did anyone close to you give birth?

~ A lot! 🙂 Hahaha. Your Tita Miles gave birth last April, Tita Maseh gave birth last August and Tita Juvy gave birth last month. 🙂

3.) Did anyone close to you die?

~ No one — and hopefully no one does.

4.) Did you travel? Where did you go?

~ Hhhmmm.. define travel? Hahaha. Mom did go to Daddy’s province (officially our province too) twice this year — last January and June, during Dad’s 24th birthday. And yes Little One, you were conceived during that special day. LOOOOL. @_@

5.) Best thing you bought?

~ I don’t know Baby. Your baby things perhaps? 🙂 Oh, and Mom’s Blackberry phone and Polaroid camera too. 🙂 Gadgets are great investments —- remember that, son. 🙂

6.) Where did most of your money go?

~ When Mom wasn’t pregnant with you yet, most of my money went to family expenses, dates with Daddy, gadgets and food. 🙂 But after I got pregnant, most of my money went to family expenses, dates with Daddy, gadgets, food, our vitamins and your things. 😛

7.) What do you wish you had done more of?

~ I don’t know Baby — maybe I should have done more travelling? Oh I know, I should’ve saved more money! 😛 Hahaha! 😛

8.) What do you wish you had done less of?

~ Less complaining and whining, perhaps? 😛 I don’t know Baby, I feel like everything I’ve done, right or wrong, lead us to you — so I don’t ever want to change anything — or lessen the degree of how I did things back then. Also, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.”  – Romans 8:28 (Nonna’s favorite Bible verse)

9.) What kept you sane?

~ Our Almighty Father. Seriously Son, we were totally caught unaware when we learned about your existence — happy of course — but totally caught unaware. If His grace and mercy weren’t present in our lives, I would be in a mental institution by now. He remained in control of everything, something that I’m really glad about, cause Daddy and I couldn’t do it by ourselves.

10.) What drove you mad?

~ Besides unexpected news (see answer above), hhhhmmmmm…. Nothing, I guess. Hehehe. Don’t worry Baby, you’re not to blame in all of this. It’s your Daddy and Mommy’s fault that they did not prepare for this soon enough. But you are such a blessing in our lives, so even if I had to go through intense mental gymnastics for weeks, I WOULDN’T CHANGE ANYTHING, cause if I did, we wouldn’t have you and your crazy karate chops at night. 😛

11.) What made you celebrate?

~ Your existence, of course! 🙂 After we got over the initial drama, Daddy and I were so excited, we couldn’t wait to tell it to the world! Of course, we had to keep our traps partially shut because some members of our families had to know first. Oh, and when you found out your gender? If you could only see our faces that time, especially Daddy’s. It was priceless. 🙂

12.) What made you sad?

~ I don’t think anything particular made me sad this year. I think Mommy only gets sad when someone gets really sick — like your Tito Yeye for instance, he’s currently confined right now because of Dengue Fever. 😦 Let’s pray for your uncle, okay Baby? 🙂 Oh, your Tito Jun also had Dengue Fever this year, but he’s okay now.

13.) How was your birthday this year?

~ How was my birthday this year? All I can remember was, it was on a Sunday. 🙂 Oh yeah, I got myself the Blackberry phone. I also got tons of birthday greetings on Facebook and I treated your Ninangs to Mang Inasal. Now I remember — I couldn’t eat very well, and I was wondering why, cause I usually have three or four refills of rice. That time, I only had one refill. Figures, I was already experiencing first trimester symptoms —- indigestion! 😛

14.) What political issue stirred you the most this year?

~ Hahaha! 😀 I used to be affected when it comes to political issues, but now, I don’t care anymore! 😀 The whole Philippine political scene has turned into a telenovela circus — and Mommy’s not exactly the everyday-telenevola-follower.

15.) Were you in love in 2011?

~ Very much Baby. My heart bursts out with sooooo much love for your Daddy that we decided this kind of love isn’t enough for one person, so we had you. Hahaha! 😀 I know that sounds so cheesy and downright PDA-ish, but it’s completely true! 🙂 Now as I end 2011, I’m in love with two men —- make that 1 man and 1 boy. 😉

16.) What would you like to have in 2012 that you didn’t have this year?

~ You, of course. 🙂 Hahaha! 🙂 And the promised promotion, that can add financial security to our family. Daddy’s also on the verge of promotion — Daddy’s really good, he’s still considered a trainee but his work ethic and knowledge regarding his work is soooo good that bosses are thinking about giving him a higher ranking position. 😛 Mommy would like us to have a good house next year, and also to have all of our household stuff before the year ends.

17.) What date from 2011 will be etched in your memory and why?

~ July 18, 2011 –> the day I found out about my Little One. 🙂

~ November 5, 2011 –> the day we found out our Little One was a Little Boy. 🙂

18.) What song will remind you of 2011?

~ Oh this is a hard one Baby. I’ll think of this first, cause there are like, a ton of songs that will remind me of this year. 🙂 If only Blackberry had a Most Played songlist like Nokia and Samsung. 😦

19.) Compared to this time last year, are you happier?

~ Definitely. 🙂

20.) Biggest achievement this year?

~ I don’t think Mom has achieved a lot this year. I don’t know, maybe I’ll ask your Daddy about this. 😀

21.) Biggest disappointment this year?

~ Hhmmmm… I’ll just keep that to myself. 🙂 It’s still a disappointment this time of the year, but at least not as much of a disappointment as it was before.

22.) What is the one thing that would have made you more satisfied?

~ The fact that I should’ve bought your Nonna all the things that she wanted. 🙂 But don’t worry Baby, Mommy’s still working on it. 🙂

23.) Best new person you met this year?

~ You mean besides my Lucas? 🙂 Your Ninang Hershey and Ninang Lala. 🙂

24.) A valuable life lesson you learned this year?

~ Trust God and let Him direct your path. 🙂 Things don’t always turn out as bad as you imagine them to be.

25.) How was your health in 2011?

~ Pretty good. 🙂 I have been to the doctor more times than I have been for the past five years. 😛 Of course Mommy has to take good care of her health to make sure you’ll be healthy too. 🙂

26.) Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions and will you make more for next year?

~ Mommy doesn’t believe in NYR, cause I know I can’t keep them. 😛

27.) What countries did you visit?

~ Nada. 😛

28.) What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2011?

~ More nerve, I guess? I think I played too safe this year — meaning, I wasn’t that assertive compared to the previous years. 🙂

29.) Did you suffer hardship in 2011?

~ I did, but it was quite tolerable — nothing of the wrist cutting and overdosing sort. 😛 Thank you Lord for getting me through! 🙂

30.) Whose behavior merited celebration?

~ Prolly your Dad. 🙂 Your Daddy has changed soooo much for the better, you wouldn’t recognize him from his college DoTA days. Guess he made good on his promise that he’ll be a better person once things turned really serious. 🙂

31.) Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

~ I’d like to keep this one to myself Baby. Will tell you maybe once you’re old enough to understand why. 🙂

32.) What did you get really, really, really excited about?

~ At the start of the year, Mommy and Daddy were pretty much excited planning for our wedding. 🙂 Mommy was excited about the prospect of a new job, and Daddy was excited about the opening of the family business in Laguna. 🙂 But as the year winds down, we’re both excited about getting married, having our own family and getting our own house. 🙂

33.) Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. > happier or sadder?

~ Happier, definitely. 🙂

ii. > thinner or fatter?

~ Fatter, of course. 120 lbs vs. 137 lbs. and counting??? 😛

iii. > richer or poorer?

~ Richer, because we have you. 🙂 And…. yeah, richer cause… I am earning almost twice compared to last year. 🙂

34.) How did you spend the New Year’s?

~ Nothing spectacular, just the usual. We just visited relatives in Pasig, had dinner, and went home afterwards.

35.) How many one-night stands?

~ None.

36.) What was your favorite TV program?

~ How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girl, Top Chef and its spin-offs, Cake Boss, Man Vs. Food, Junior Master Chef, Everday Exotic, My Greek Kitchen, Jamie Oliver shows, Nigella Lawson shows, Everyday Italian, Idol Sa Kusina…. the list goes on. And as you might have noticed Son, most of these shows are about cooking and food. 😛

37.) Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

~ Hate is too strong a word. Maybe it’s because of hormones and all, but there are some persons that Mommy wants to avoid because they get on her nerves. 😛

38.) What was the best book you read?

~ Unfortunately, Mommy didn’t have much time to read a lot this year. Mommy only re-read her favorite books. 😛 But don’t worry, next year, we’ll read a lot of books. 🙂

39.) What was your greatest musical (re)discovery?

~ I discovered that I was such a huge Roxette fan! 🙂 Hahaha! 🙂

40.) What did you want and get?

~ I wanted my gadgets, and I did get most of them. I wanted to eat, and I did get to eat at food markets. 😀

41.) What did you want and not get?

~ The supposed promotion from the other company and my dream laptop

42.) What was your favorite film that you watched this year?

~ Definitely Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington. I have a “mababaw” sense of humor. 😛

43.) What one experience do you never want to repeat from this year?

~ Ummm… I definitely don’t want to experience indigestion and a whole lot of vomiting next year. 😛 Meaning —- paging Daddy —- I don’t want to be pregnant right away next year!!!!! 😛 Hahaha, don’t get wrong Baby, having you is such a joy, but the symptoms are not soooo pleasant sometimes. 🙂

44.) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?

~ Very boho, but also quite clean and a little office-y at the same time. 🙂

45.) Which celebrity / public figure did you fancy the most?

~ Aishwarya Rai. 🙂

46.) Who did you miss?

~ I miss our relatives in the States and Canada. 🙂

47.) Quote that sums up your year

~ Oh, this one’s hard… 😛 I’ll get back to this one later. 🙂

48.) Was 2011 a good year for you?

~ Yes, a pretty good year Baby —- career-wise, lovelife-wise and family life-wise. 🙂

49.) What was your favorite moment of the year?

~ A lot actually, I can’t even pinpoint a single one.

50.) What was your least favorite moment of the year?

~ Nothing particular comes into mind. 😛

51.) Where were you when 2011 began?

~ Maybe in Pasig? 🙂 I’m not exactly sure Baby. 😛

52.) Who were you with?

~ With Nonna, Ninang Mimi and your Great Grand Lolo. 🙂 Daddy was in the province that time, busy with his godchildren. 😛

53.) Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for 2012?

~ Nope, cause Mommy doesn’t believe in NYR.

54.) What was your favorite month of 2011?

~ June –> Mommy and Daddy’s birth month. 🙂 December –> Christmas

55.) What was your favorite song of 2011?

~ Hhmmmm… I haven’t really thought about it.

56.) What was your favorite record from 2011?

~ I didn’t really buy any record this year, cause I download from the internet for free. 😛

57.) How many concerts did you see in 2011?

~ Sadly none. 😦

58.) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2011?

~ I think I only drank once this year Baby, I promise. Like two – three glasses of Pale Pilsen last January 2011 — urgh, I know.

59.) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2011?

~ The only drugs Mommy did this year were Amoxicillin 500 mg and Kremil-S. 😛

60.) How many people did you sleep with in 2011?

~ Just your Daddy. 😛

61.) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?

~ A lot actually, but Mommy’s not going to tell you that. 😛

62.) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2011?

~ I don’t exactly remember… Oh noooo.. Mommy’s pregnancy amnesia’s getting worse!!!

63.) Did you treat somebody badly in 2011?

~ Hahaha. I have been treating this person badly for half a decade now. 😛 I don’t know Baby, I try my very best to start, but I just can’t — but I know God is stronger than my emotions, so He will conquer my heart and my mind, and I know He will change the way I feel about this person.

64.) Did somebody treat you badly in 2011?

~ Nobody did… to which I’m thankful for, Little One. If someone did, I probably didn’t notice it. 😛

65.) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2012?

~ Secreeeeettt! 😛 Hahaha! 🙂

66.) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2011 and change something, what would it be?

~ Like I said, Little One, Mommy will not change anything at all. 🙂

67.) What are you most looking forward to in 2012?

~ Tax refund, Mommy and Daddy’s wedding, your birth day, the day when we move to our new house… a lot of things Baby. I don’t want to expect anything except to be surprised. 😛 Hahaha! 🙂

To our other readers, please feel free to copy the questions, and let Grace of Sandier Pastures know how you answered them. 🙂 No, I’m not paid to promote her or her blog, I just really really like her. 🙂

And for the record, I have answered all these questions while handling five classes. 😛 Hehehe! 🙂 Now that’s multi-tasking! 🙂

P.S. Little Boy, your Great Grandpa came home from Coron, Palawan last Sunday afternoon, and we did not hear any fireworks from him — yet. I don’t know, cause he and Daddy did not have the sit-down talk yet, maybe next Sunday though. But I think he’s okay with it now. He’s actually concerned about us. 🙂 So Yaaaaaaay! for legality. Hahaha. 😀

P. P. S.  Mommy and Daddy went to City Hall earlier this week, and looks like our wedding will be on the third week of January. 😉 I know Baby, barely a month ’til you arrive. 😛 Hahaha. 🙂

We love you Lucas Ram! 🙂 Keep those kicks coming! 🙂

Mommy (Daddy sends his love from the office!)

Hi Lucas! ♥ Mommy and Daddy will be married in a few weeks! 🙂 Both of us are so excited, and we hope you are too!

See, Mommy and Daddy have been engaged since January 2010, and we have been going to different wedding fairs and food tastings ever since. We also contacted several wedding suppliers already! 🙂 We also had a very feasible wedding plan and timetable — all we needed was the money. 😀 Daddy and I planned on saving up for the next two to three years, but seven and a half months ago, you were given to us by God. 🙂 As much as we wanted to go through our dream wedding, we put our plans on hold, as we wanted to make sure you would have everything you want and need. Besides, Mommy and Daddy don’t mind having a civil wedding first. 🙂 It’s actually kind of exciting that I’ll be sharing Daddy’s surname sooner than expected. We can always get married again soon — and the beauty of it is, you’ll be with us as our ring bearer! 🙂

We do hope, when the right time comes, Mommy and Daddy will get to hire the following suppliers (our dream team since January 2010).

Florist / Events Styling ~ Vatel Manila

Catering ~ K by Cunanan

21.) Simple Things – Jim Brickman and Rebecca Lynn Howard

Okay… Mommy posted this in our blog, so she can remember all these details, and for you to know how Mommy and Daddy love each other verrrry verrry much that they have extensively planned all of this! 🙂 One thing that saddens me though, is the fact that you don’t have any wedding videos of Mom and Dad to watch when you turn one or two, because we’ll prolly have this wedding when you turn three or five. Granted though, that you don’t have your baby brother or sister by that time! 😀

P.S. > You know Lucas, Mommy will be extremely pissed if somebody copies her whole wedding plan. Pregnant or not, hormones or no hormones, I will be super duper mad at that person, cause I didn’t post this just for anyone to copy most of our plans. 😀

And you know how Mommy gets mad right? 🙂

We love you Lucas! 🙂 We’re so happy you’ll be with us at our wedding! 🙂

P.P.S > Please give Mommy’s tummy some space for eating after the wedding, cause we’re planning to eat in a restaurant that offers great buffet — so don’t make Mommy have a heartburn attack or anything! 😛

Hi Lucas! 🙂 Mommy and Daddy are still very busy this Christmas season, as we have to earn lotsa lotsa moolah for your stuff, Christmas gifts, and things for our new house. We have been scouting for studio-type apartments around Cubao area, and so far we have found a few prospects. Mommy and Nonna will check out these prospects this weekend, so make sure to tell us which apartment you like the best, okay?

Also, as usual, Daddy spent a few days with us, as it was his rest day… and Mommy also had another epic heartburn episode last night. 😦 Eeeeek! 😦 But don’t worry, Daddy took real good care of us, and we’re okay right now. Sorry Baby, Mommy tends to overeat sometimes. 😦

Anyhoo, the reason I posted an entry is because, I’d like to show you Mommy and Daddy’s pictures round the Araneta Center Christmas Tree two nights ago. 🙂 Mommy has been living in Cubao since she was 7, and I have never ever tried to take a picture of that huge Christmas tree. I don’t know, maybe because I’m too embarrassed to take pictures (I mean like, I’m from Cubao, I see that tree every year, I don’t want to look like some out-of-town tourist) or probably I’m just too lazy to take pictures. But your Daddy, having grown up from the province, he insisted on taking pictures. 😛

He is very much excited this Christmas season, and I think he is also thinking about the fact that next year, we’ll be taking the same pictures, but this time with you! 🙂 I’m actually very thankful that next Christmas, you would be roughly 9 – 10 months old, and you’ll be old enough to appreciate different lights and sounds — and give your very own reaction. 🙂

Anyhoo, here are the pictures!~

(Sorry if Mommy’s in a hurry — busy busy busy at work today! 🙂 But don’t worry, Mommy will try to post another entry again soon! We love you Lucas! ♥ — Mommy and Daddy)

Hi Lucas! 🙂 *sigh* Mommy’s still quite busy, but not because of work — because of too much thinking.

See, Mommy and Daddy have been talking about our future arrangements, once you say hello to the world. Both of us are quite uneasy about the fact that we are supposed to hire a nanny to watch over you while Daddy and Mommy are at work. I mean like, I don’t want any random stranger (no matter how trustworthy that person is) to take care of my little boy. I want to watch over you, take care of you and never miss anything you do —- but I still need to work too. *sigh*

Mommy’s looking for homebased online jobs during her break hours, so we can make a compromise regarding our situation.

~Imagine Mommy working, with you on my lap? Probably breastfeeding?? :P~

But even if the offers are quite tempting, I still feel bad about it because… okay Little One, this is our little secret, okay? Mommy’s boss had a secret talk with Mommy two weeks ago, and he mentioned that he will be promoting me to Head Teacher once I come back from my maternity leave (approximately April 2012). Mommy’s been waiting for this kind of promotion for a long time, since her supposedly first promotion from her first company backfired this year, as I resigned two weeks before the person I was supposed to replace did (our videophone coach). I feel like if I don’t accept the promotion, I will feel like a real failure — I have worked in the education industry for almost three years (two years with Koreans) and I haven’t gotten anywhere.

Baby, I’m sorry. Mommy’s not blaming you for this, you totally don’t have to feel bad for yourself. I guess I’m just adjusting to the fact that once you have a baby, your career and social life will be placed on hold indefinitely. I mean, I don’t really mind my social life much — as long as I have Facebook and my phone’s loaded with credits, that’s okay. What I’m totally worrying about is my career growth. Mommy wants to get a really good position, so she can get good pay and buy all the things that you want and need (well, not really — you’re not going to be terribly spoiled, young man) — and I can’t do that with a meager salary. But if I do continue working 9 hours a day in the office, I’ll be filled with guilt for leaving you behind with some stranger who might do something really terrible. Or you know, someone who’ll ruin the bottle sterilizer for not following instructions. 😀 I’m really touchy about the sterilizer thingy.

Daddy’s salary is quite okay actually, but we both think it’s just enough for our growing needs. I don’t know, maybe Mommy’s just not used to the fact that she’ll be asking money for frivolous things for me and you — like our excessive trips to the mall. 😀

*sigh* But don’t worry Lucas, Mommy and Daddy will manage just fine, whatever happens. God will always guide us through our decisions, as long as we seek Him first. That’s why we always have our nightly prayers with Daddy.

Sorry Baby, Mommy just needs someone to talk to. Sorry if Mommy is stressing you out with these kinds of things, and I’m also apologizing if Mommy hasn’t completely adjusted to all these things. All we want is the best for you. ♥

Is Mommy too vain? 😦 I’m really sorry if you think I am. 😦

We love you Anak! ♥

Hi Lucas! 🙂 Sorry if Mommy hasn’t been posting too much lately, as it has been quite a busy week at work. So far, we’re doing pretty good — WE’RE ALREADY ON OUR THIRD TRIMESTER!!!! Congratulations Baby! We’re exactly 28 weeks today! 🙂 Roughly more or less a hundred days to go until we see you! 🙂

According to, this is how you look like now.

How you’re growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He’s also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Thank you again to for all the details! 🙂

Are you excited Little Boy? 🙂 We sure are — but we’re also kind of nervous, cause we haven’t bought much stuff for you yet. But don’t you worry, we’ll get everything we need before you come out of Mommy’s belly, so you just relax there and let Mommy and Daddy do all the work.

We’re prolly going to buy all your clothes, pillows, bottle cleaners, towels, milk containers — plus your baby bag and tub by mid-December, while Mommy looks for Christmas gifts too. *sigh* I still don’t have any idea what to give you or your Daddy this season, so I better start thinking now, as we only have less than 30 days to go. 😦

We also can’t wait for your 4D ultrasound on January! 😛 Mommy will take a special leave from work (which she doesn’t do very often) so Daddy and I could take our time for the session — and maybe go out on a family date afterwards. 😉

Okay Little Boy, Mommy has to go back to work — I envy your Daddy ’cause today’s his day off from work, so he gets to sleep a lot and help our Nonna put up the ornaments and trimmings on the Christmas tree today. 😛

We love you Little One! 🙂

 Never mind the background. 😛

Mommy and Daddy

Hi Lucas! 🙂 I guess I can tell you about the stuff that your Nonna (maternal grandma) and I have done last weekend. *sigh* Hay Anak, you almost gave me a heart attack. 😛 But I still love you very very much, even if you make me worry at times.

Anyhoo, back to my story. Yeah, Mommy and Nonna went to the doctor last Saturday morning, so we could get our monthly check-up and our Tetanus Toxoid vaccine. As soon as Dr. Tumbokon arrived, she tended to us right away. She said your heartbeat was slower than the usual, but nothing to be worried about. She also measured Mommy’s tummy, to see how much space you have been taking up in my tummy and gave us a prescription for medicines just in case we have to endure another heartburn attack. I confessed to her that we found out your gender weeks ago, and she just laughed, saying that it was okay, I shouldn’t feel guilty about not following her advice. 😀

Right after that, she asked us to go downstairs (first floor of the clinic), to get our vaccine (which was prolly more like a booster shot) from the nurses station. It wasn’t so bad, it just made Mommy’s deltoid muscles hurt. Nonna insisted that we go home right after the check-up (she thinks our clinic is too far from our house) but I told her I wanted to eat something first, as a reward for us getting the vaccine. 😀 So we went straight ahead to SM Megamall and ate at Tokyo, Tokyo. Mommy had her usual Beef Misono Bento with Miso Soup and Nonna had Prawn and Vegetable Tempura Bento with Miso Soup. We also added Kani Salad and California Maki to our order. To my surprise, Nonna had a refill of rice (she’s doesn’t usually refill her rice). I would have had two or three refills of rice, but remembering what our doctor told us about overeating, I just confined myself to just one refill. 😦

Afterwards, we went around the whole SM Department Store for your things and other things that we needed for our new home. Even if Mommy’s arm was hurting like bad, I didn’t pay much attention to it, as I having so much fun with your Nonna. 🙂 We also passed by the Before I Do Bridal Fair at SM Megatrade Hall 3, but not for me though, for Nonna’s upcoming wedding. 🙂

During the afternoon, we had cereals from Cerealicious Cafe. Mommy had the Apple-O 13 cereal and Nonna had the Banana Jones and Temple of Doom, as we didn’t want too much chocolate on our cereals. While eating, Mommy decided that she’ll get a digital camera now, instead of buying your sterilizer and bottles first. Oh don’t worry Baby, we’ll still get them — I just decided that we should get them a little later on, because they will just be stuck in the closet for a few months before we actually use them, while we can use the camera to take pictures of you while you are still in my tummy. Also, pictures of Mommy and Daddy’s first Christmas together as a married couple, and Mommy’s preggy pictures.

After a lot of walking around through stores, Mommy and Nonna chose the Polaroid t1455, which costs  P3, 995.00 PHP (roughly around $92.22 USD)

Now, Mommy’s not a camera expert, not even a techie for that matter. All I know is I want a camera with 14 megapixels that takes non-blurry shots during night time and crisp, clear shots during the day. Mommy’s a sucker for clarity. It took me at least 10 hours to figure out every nook and crany, and how to take pictures the way I like them. So far, I like it very much. 🙂 Daddy’s going to check it out tonight, and he’ll take pictures of all three of us. So far, here are the pictures Mommy took from her camera. 🙂

Oh yeah, Mommy had a haircut too! 🙂 According to your Ninang Mimi, I’m not the Bohemian Mommy anymore — I’m the Modern Mommy now. 😛

Mommy, pregnant at 27 weeks. 🙂

Mommy is also a Teacher. 🙂

This is what Mommy does when she’s not working. 😛 She’s always on forums like Smart Parenting and GirlTalk. 🙂

What do you think Lucas? Do you like our camera? 🙂 I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to get a much manlier color, the salesperson said that this was the only stock left. We promise to take lots of pictures of you from the moment you come out of Mommy’s belly. 🙂

Anyhoo, please please please be a good boy, and don’t make your Mommy worry too much. Mommy has to go to work now, and you’re always free to play even if Mommy’s busy. 🙂 Daddy jokingly tells me that he’ll scold you tonight for making us worry — but knowing your Dad, for sure he’ll just play with you right after the mock scolding. 😛

We love you Lucas! 🙂

Mommy and Daddy

P.S. Your Great Grandpa found out yesterday that you are a boy, and he seems totally okay towards us na. We hope the talk we’ll have mid-December will also turn out to be okay. 🙂 Love you Lucas! 🙂 ♥

Mommy’s note (5 minutes after this post): Lucas… Why is it when I tell your Daddy about the naughty things you do, you behave right away? 😛 When Mommy worries about things you did or did not do, you make it up right away as soon as I tell your Daddy? Hmmm… I’m beginning to think you’re Daddy’s little boy talaga.

You’ve been kicking me for 15 minutes, and you gave me three full-fledged kicks to assure me that you were very much okay. Thank you Lord! 🙂

You gave me a fright, but I’m glad everything’s okay now. Please don’t make us worry that much again, okay? *sigh* We love you Lucas! 🙂 — ♥, Mom and Dad

Hi Baby! 🙂 There are so many things that Mommy wants to tell you, but right now, I’m pretty worried cause you haven’t been kicking me too much. I mean, you have been moving every two to three hours, but not your signature black belter kicks. More like hiccups and softer kicks.

Some mommies in the internet say that it is quite normal, because you probably moved into another position, but our doctor says if Mommy still feels so worried about it, I should get an ultrasound soon. 😦 What do you think Lucas? Should Mommy and Daddy feel worried about you? Did Mommy do something wrong? 😦

I’m praying that you’ll give Mommy very swift and strong kicks soon — you can even do it while Mommy is working, I don’t mind. Please be okay baby, I’m close to tears already. :””(

We love you! Hang in there Anak… ♥

Mommy’s note as of 6:35 PM – 11/17/11: Lucas, congratulate your Tita Juvy ah, as she just passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers held last September 2011. 🙂 She’s very smart, as she is also a registered nurse at the same time (She, Tita Steph, and I took the Nursing Licensure Exam all at the same time last November 2008).

Hi Little Lucas! 🙂 I know what you’re thinking, and no, Mommy did not buy another thing for you just yet. Hahaha. 🙂 Just wait, okay? 🙂 I posted an entry today because I found out about some exciting news last night that if I didn’t share it to you, your Mommy will go mad. 😀

See, your Mommy has been into Indian culture since… okay, pregnancy amnesia kicking in, ’cause I can’t remember. Prolly two years ago? Oh I don’t know. Anyhoo, when all her countrymen were busy watching Filipino soap operas, Mommy was busy with her Indian TV Serials, such as Pavitra Rishta, Choti Bahu, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander, and…. yeah, I can’t remember. So naturally, I would also be following Bollywood superstars like Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn.

And last night, I found out that my super duper favorite actress in the whole wide world has given birth to a baby girl! 🙂 The most beautiful woman in the world and Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai has given birth to her first child with Abhishek Bachchan! 🙂 Yaaaay! 🙂

Sorry baby, I don’t think they have released baby pictures yet, but I’ll post a picture of Aish and Abhi, and you’ll have an idea of how fab and good-looking their little princess would be. 😉

Oh, and I also have pictures of Mommies’ dearest friends who have given birth recently. See, there’s a runnning joke in our group that there’s always a girl in line to give birth 🙂 Tita Miles started it when she gave birth around April, to Baby Hailey. Then Tita Maseh gave birth to Baby Brey last August, while Tita Juvy gave birth to Baby Edria a few days ago. That leaves me to be the only girl in line to give birth — that is unless one of your other titas or ninangs decide to have some babies soon. 😛

Leetol trivia: Notice that all of your titas have baby girls? 🙂

*sigh* We’re next in line, Little Lucas. 🙂 Are you ready? Well, don’t be in a hurry, cause you still need some time inside my belly. Also, Mommy and Daddy are not yet done buying your things. 😛 But all the same, we can’t wait to see you! 🙂

Little Lucas, we might go to the doctor this weekend with your Nonna. I hope we don’t give Dr. Tumbokon a hard time when she gives me the vaccine! 😛
